The Buzzard Council was a strictly social organization that issued stamps just for the fun of it. Quote from a member: "... no funds were allocated toward conservation, just drinking and parties." If this isn't conservation of the WILD life, I'm not sure what would qualify. It is certainly more entertaining than stomping through swamps counting frogs.
